This cycad seems to do as well as C. revoluta or C. taitungensis in the Augusta, GA area. I have a male and female C. panzhihuaensis planted in full sun. The female bore seed for the first time this summer (2007). I don't know if the seed is viable yet.

This is an attractive cycad that looks in habit a bit like a Sago Palm, but has much bluer leaves and a good deal of frost tolerance (from very chilly areas of China). Until recently it was rare in cultivation, but now it's starting to show up in specialty nurseries. It is probably endangered in the wild.
