I donīt know, Iīve read that in some American states this is a threatened species, but in others this is considered invasive. Anyway, I find it to be very invasive down here in the tropics, growing anywhere on fertile and moderately moist soil, growing on white sand sometimes. Even taking that in consideration, Iīm kind of sympathetic with this grass, since the bloom looks nice, and gives a nice sensation when you touch it. The foliage isnīt very ornamental, though.

It will propagate itself efficiently by seeds, and can be a noisance. I thank God for not having it in my pots, but if I ever get some plants, I wouldnīt kill them unless they start to become out of control.
