I grew this in a mixed border in an old garden. It got sun most of the day and I had amended the border's sharply drained soil with compost but provided no care for the plant itself. It bloomed nearly continuously for what seemed like months. It reliably returned every year, no matter whether we had snowy winters or very cold spells with no snow cover (that killed many other plants). It is a lovely plant with gorgeous flowers. It is too bad it is not more widely available in the US.

Use as a groundcover or in the border in full sun along the coast or morning sun in hot locales.
