This plant has his origines in Tanzania, Somalia and Kenya. The inconspicious flowers are unisexual and born on different plants. Sap is very poisonous so be carefull whan pruning!!
It is an interesting specie that forms a round, bumpy caudex un to 1 meter (3ft) high and wide, topped with thick, spini, leafless brabches. Flowers are bright red.
Can be grown outdoors when temp. not below 10°C (45° F)

Weird caudiciform globoid dark green woody, warty stem with spiny branches coming out of it in all directions. Spines thick and green. Small lobed leaves. Creates a spiny, impenitrible shrub if not manicured. Popular as a bonsai. Careful with overwatering- can rot easily
