I grew this plant in Cornwall, UK (z 9b) for many years when it survived frosts down to -4.5 C, but they all died when temperatures dropped to -7 C. I would say it could survive
-6C but would be damaged.
Plants grew fast to 4 ft accross by 2-3 ft high, but never flowered. It suffers during hot summers - even in our cool climate, and plants would lose half their leaves - best with some dappled shade.

Bright green rosettes fairly tall (up to 3') and branching. Good planted in masses. Not for full sun in hot, dry climates.
