This plant has been reclassified from being a stand alone species to a variety of Conophytum minutum, according to the 2002 classification set forth in the book by Steven Hammer.
More synonyms of this plant (Conophytum minutum var. pearsonii) are Conophytum braunsii, Conophytum glabrum, Conophytum parvile, Conophytum pearsonii, Conophytum pearsonii var. latisectum, Conophytum pearsonii var. minor & Conophytum tubatum
