A hybrid created by the combination of the Robinson
and the Osceola Mandarins, Sunburst joined the already
crowded Tangerine fraternity in 1979.

However, it stood up on its own due to its beautiful
deep orange color, an extremely thin peel and a great
flavor.

Although consumers found it discouraging for peeling
because of its thin skin, it became famous because of
its near seedless characteristics.
