This is another antique that is highly prized by older folk for making lime pickles. It is good as a slicer, growing to a nice size. It is not as prolific as some other varieties. Because it is a black spine variety, most other slicers are white spine, it turns a brilliant yellow as it begans to ripen. For those who like to make those yellow quartered lime pickles, there is no substitute.
