Once established, P. veitchii grows in Miami without any care. It handles sun without any problems. The most obvious distinction between it and the common staghorn (P. bifurcatum), is the fact that its fronds are upright.

Great looking nearly white Platycerium for brighter sunnier areas of your yard where the other species might bake or suffer. Arid regions of N Australia is where this one comes from, but it really isn't drought tolerant, so don't push it. Very easy to grow here in So Cal- takes sun and frost (though should be protected from blazing, hot, dry sun).
