This is an species of Senna from the southeastern brazilian litoral, forming thick bushes on the sand dunes along the coast.

This shrub usually grows 1.2 - 2.5m tall, with composite leaves, and leathery leaflets. The flowers are big (for a Senna), bright yellow, in short inflorescences. The seed pods are thin, straight and long.

It grows on white sand, with little organic matter, regular watering, full sun and high temperatures.
