Small globoid to columnar cactus and slow growing but offsets eventually (some more readily than others). Spines soft and close together giving the effect of looking likea bird's nest. No central spines... fairly 'user-friendly' species. Easy to rot if over water, especially in winter. From Coahuila, Mexico, moderate elevation.
