I just checked the California Invasive Plant Inventory Database list and Coastal Tea Tree is not on it. I am posting this as an update to the previous note, as the plant has merit especially in seaside gardens as the salt tolerance is very high. Additionally, you can make a tea from it which is very high in vitamin C...hence the name, Tea Tree.
