I've had this plant forever. Never give any of my roses winter protection. This plant is a winner, beautiful red, prolific, re-blooms consistently. Compact. I feed a granular name brand rose food regularly and a home mixed formula of Jerry Baker's. Also give it liberal banana peels through the season, worked into the ground. I treat all my roses the same. All it needs. Love, love, love this rose.

I grow my r. Francois Rabelais in a container at our front door. It's always a source of joy when blooming. Flowers are a very clear medium red with no blue or yellow evident, so there is no trace of purple or orange hues. Needs protection against black spot, aphids and mildew in this area. Foliage is medium to dark green depending on how much sun it gets.

My rose is one of the Home Depot mystery roses with the label altered to read "Dreamy Nights". After researching it, I'm pretty sure it is a "Francois Rabelais". No real scent but makes a nice compact plant with numerous blooms.
It seems to be doing well in N.E. Arkansas.

This rose is a very prolific bloomer and the color is startlingly red. The blooms are small and have very little fragrance. This Romantica rose does well in zone 5 wtih some winter protection.
