Had good luck with this little columnar S African Euphorbia... has star-shape red-brown spines near top of column only- sharp but not too bad when handling. Some forms seem to have single purply spines... not sure if those are variations (like one in photo provided) or ultimately incorrectly identified plants. Photos shows typical shaped plant, but spines are different...Doesn't like much water in summer, but does OK in wet winters. has a rough, knobby appearance.
