This is the best looking of all the Kangaroo Paws, but unfortunately is not that hardy or long lived. However, this hybrid is a bit hardier than the Red and Green Kangaroo Paw from Western Australia which is really a wimpy plant. It has the color of the red and green, but the size and some of the hardiness of the common species we see all over Southern California. This plant does NOT like humidity. It has much smaller, and more blue in the leaves than the common A flavidus. A very attractive plant. You will be lucky, however, to get it live over a year... considered an anual by many.

Arroyo Grande, California
Simi Valley, California
