I set out plants in the spring two yrs ago and must have reseeded because it came back last summer and had spread to many new areas. Never expected this but I believe it was able to do this because of my new solid vinyl fence I had put up all around the backyard which sheltered my flower beds.

This plant loves sandy soil, which is good for me because I live in a coastal city. It was very easy to grow from seed sown in the Fall. I scattered seeds over the soil and did not cover the seeds. Seeds sown in Sept. in a sunny area. By late January, the plants were already blooming! They are an excellent 4-6" tall groundcover, with a lovely purple color and a pleasant sweet fragrance. They attract bees and butterflies. Blooms repeatedly. Zone 11.

Flowers are supposed to be deep violet, but mine range from light to dark lavender. So far spread is 12"-15" and at least 8" high (only supposed to be 3"). Very showy, very pleased with this plant. Zone 11.
