Smaller Brahea with sparse light green crown and ornamental trunk (with retained leaf bases). Very drought and wind tolerant- can be grown in a cactus garden. Some forms are quite blue- nearly as blue as Brahea armata, which this palm is closely related to. However flowers are nothing like B armata. This palm has a relatively thin trunk (about 8" in diameter) that is rarely smooth except in old palms. Not the most ornamental of the Brahea, particularly the trunk, which tends to be sort of randomly scruffy looking. THough quite drought tolerant, does tend to look better if watered regularly. From Central Mexico.
