This is a terrific plant, but a bit hard to maintains sometimes. This is the only true epiphytic species of cycad, and repeated attempts to grow it in the ground have failed. It's a tad tropical, but can grow in warmer, humid Mediterranean climates. This cycads is a stunning pland a real collectors item.. now it is relatively easy to find in the cycad trade, but 10 years ago it was a super rarity and brought in a lot of $$. Develops roots like an orching that wrap around a tree branch. Not uncommon in the wild.. .but still a rare to see a well grown one outside the tropics.
