There is little information about this brazilian orchid. All I know is what I saw in the botanical garden last time I visited. There was a rather large group of plants growing around a palm tree, united by a thick entanglement of roots and rhyzomes that seemed to be responsible for most of the plantīs biomass, so vigorous they were. The herbaceous stems and leaves, on the other hand, look like a tender, erect grass with thin, upright leaves.

It in no way looks like an orchid, if it wasnīt by the roots. Certainly a curiosity in any orchid collection.
