This Echeveria is originally from Hidalgo Mexico.

Some of my sources claim it is fully hardy, but mine has only been tested down to -2C for short periods, so I only marked it down to Zone 8 in the PDB. That should not keep those of you in colder climes from trying it, especially if you can give it some winter protection, for example, in a cold frame.

The plants are quite slow growing, but offset freely, esp. if given extra nitrogen in their feed in early summer. After that, stick to a normal cactus ratio. Plants enjoy frequent waterings during the growth period as long as the soil is free-draining. During winter I don't water at all, but the plant tolerates occaisional rainfall.

According to Stearn's Botanical Latin, "albicans" means "becoming white", probably in reference to the powdery-white coloring of the flower stems of some clones. As you can see in the close-up I posted, mine tends towards red.
