In my opinion this is the most attractive of all the 'king' palms... has a slight turquoise crownshaft, bright green ringed trunk (eventually fades to grey like all the others) and slightly pendant leaves. From isolated colony in Australia. Mine grew fairly rapidly but did great in shade for the first 3 years until it popped its head out into the sunshine. The palm, as least as a seedling, resembles A alexandrae or A purpurea, much more so than A cunninghamiana (King palm). Leaves are glaucous underneath, and a much deeper green (compare to the yellowy-green of King palms). Someday, maybe these will outnumber king palms in So Cal??

Regional...

Garden Grove, California
Oceanside, California
Rancho Cucamonga, California

Thousand Oaks, California
Venice, Florida
