I have not grown this variety, information only.

The introduction date for this carrot is 1884. They can grow to be over 1 pound and stores well. Seeds produce uniform true to type harvest.

This is a very old cultivar. It was not new when listed in Burpees 1888 catalog.It is a short but large carrot, growing up to five inches long and 4 inches in diameter. It will grow on heavy soils where the long types just get crooked and misshapen. It was the standard carrot when I was a boy.
