This is one of the most attractive of the Pritchardias. It is from the island of Oahu, Hawaii where it can grow up to 12'. However, in southern California, where this species is prized and quite popular, it probably doesn't grow more than 6'-8' in height. It has very large (4' wide) nearly circular and only slightly split, stiff, pleated fan leaves that have a coppery to powdery look on the undersides. It is really a dwarf Pritchardia, and quite slow growing. Seeds are large and spherical.
