This small to medium, shrubby, spreading annual or perennial is similar to the False Rosemaries such as Largeflower False Rosemary. It is native to the dry Florida Scrub, sand pine scrub, ridges, dunes, sandhills and oak scrub and similar sandy habitats in central Florida, in Volusia, Marion, Lake, Polk, Highlands and Glades counties (zones 8b to 9b). It is a spreading, shrubby, small to medium groundcover with nice small near-white to pinkish flowers. When all are in bloom, the plant appears showy. It is a good native groundcover for a native plant garden mimicking the scrub habitats it is found in, but the plant is difficult to obtain. Also, sadly, due to habitat destruction partly, the plant is listed as threatened by the state of Florida.

The plant blooms mainly late April to October.

A small population of this plant also exists in south-central Georgia in 2 counties. It is listed as threatened by both the state of Georgia and Florida. It is a deciduous or evergreen spreading shrub.
