I selected this cultivar b/c the clear royal purple description sounded like a good addition to my blue (ish) garden. However, it has produced 4 flowers already and they come more like a maroon. I sent pic to Bill @ Maryotts and he stands by the accuracy of the plant he sent me.

Neutral doss On Aug 22, 2006, doss from Stanford, CA (Zone 9b) wrote:

"Night Rhythms" (Chance Encounter x Tetra Ruby Sullivan) has 28 scapes with 3 way branching and 22 buds. Flowers are early morning openers (emo) and measure 6 x 3 x 2 . The color is described as a "clear royal purple indigo blend". It is both pod and pollen fertile. (Notes from Floyd Cove Nursery website 2006)
