This plant is growing wild in the Oconee nat. forest there are two stands of the plants that I see often, both are growing near a creek in an area that floods on occasion. The plant caught my attention because of its height, 6' to 9’, it’s large leaves, similar to Sycamore leaves, and it's blooms, which look a bit like Sunflowers. After some research, I found that the plant is reported to have medicinal uses not the least of which is; an extract from the plant is said to promote the growth of hair.
