Seaside Joyweed or Beach Alternanthera is a viney, fleshy herb perennial plant or subshrub is native to the coastal dunes and beaches of coastal southern Florida and the Keys (zones 9b through 11).

The leaves are shiny, fleshy, glabrous and are widest at the middle point.

The small, white flowers are inconspicuous.

In Florida, it is found in St. Lucie, Martin, Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe and Collier counties. It is a good, highly salt-tolerant groundcover for coastal and seaside locations.
