It has proven to be a hardy and beautiful addition to my desert garden here in eastern Massachusetts. It grows and gently self seeds in my bed of pure sand top dressed with grave mulch. The extra natural precipitation here seems to agree with these plants. The plants reaches a very robust 3' with no added water or fertilizer. A contrast in the 'rough and dangerous' (spiny leaves and stems) and the 'gentle and delicate' (gorgeous flowers). One locations roadside weed is another's garden treasure!
