I have not grown this plant. Native to California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Wyoming, it thrives in poor sandy soil. The 1-5cm leaves are linear to lanceolate and entire. It has inflorescences that reach 3-20cms. The 1-3cm bracts are pale green or purple with white margins and the corollas are 13-22mms.
