This plant is a hybrid of the Snake Plant or Mother-in-Law's Tongue (Sansevieria hyacinthoides). It is darker in color and does not have prominent (has only very faint, darkish) marking patterns in the middle (hence its cultivar name, 'Black Gold'). A great houseplant like the more common variety and classicly withstands neglect.
