This year I grew an improved variety of White Sweet Spanish called "Ringmaster". I ordered these from Dixondale Farms of Carrizo Springs, Texas. They are indeed an improved strain with many weighing over 1.5lbs.

I am posting a picture here on Plantfiles of an onion harvested today weighing 1lb. 6oz.
