A great california poppy. This one has flowers that open a lovely medium mauvey-purple, fading slowly to paler pink in the sun. This creates a pretty monochromatic effect on the plant. The foliage was vigorous and dense. It bloomed from late June to the end of summer (from direct seeding in May). The flowers are simple single chalice-shaped. Not as fancy-looking as the big ruffled Thai Silk series which I've also tried, but very elegant and pretty. I liked them a lot.
