Japanese Maple - Asahi Zuru (a.k.a. 'Rising Sun' or, as noted previously, the 'Dawn Swan').

I'm not really a gardener, but wanted to plant a tree in my back yard. Wanted a tree that wouldn't get too big, could survive my 'black thumb', and was pleasing to look at.

Bought the tree from a nursery, already grown to about 6 feet in height. It's been a year now, the tree has grown almost a foot, and is beautiful. I will be uploading the picture for those of you interested.

The 5-to 7-lobed leaves of this dependable variety vary from being totally & strikingly white to being white speckled; a delightful small tree, upright & rounded to 12-20'tall (variegations develop the 2nd yr).PSh/M
