My mom gave me a plant a couple of years ago. I put it in my "holding" bed and almost forgot about it. Transferred it to my front yard where it gets lots of hot Texas sun. The first year it bloomed well, but this year it really went to town! I cut the flowers to dry and have a jelly jar almost full of lavender blossoms just right for sachets and such. Looks great in the yard, takes little water. Its bloomed most of the summer, though it seems to be slowing down a little.

I aquired a rather sad-looking specimine at a local hardware store. It has more than just bounced back; it has taken off! For me, it grows quickly, so I have to trim it often. I water it when it needs it, and in a southern or eastern exposure.

There are two forms of Lavandula dentata, this one and L. dentata var. dentata. Lavandula dentata var. candicans is the larger growing and hardier of the two. It is upright growing and of bushy habit, making an excellent hedge in milder areas.
The stems are distinctly silvery making a very attractive plant which will flower for most of the year, with short rest periods.
It grows very strongly in well drained soil here in SW France
