This variety of Helleborus foetidus is known for its sweetly scented flowers. From the Plant World Seeds website: "The overpowering fragrance from the pendulous purple-lipped flowers fills our cottage garden for weeks in earliest spring, and this has been likened to mahonia perfume). This form is the rare, sweetly-perfumed form of Helleborus foetidus..."

It is easily grown from seed, but may take quite a few months to germinate after a required period of cool/cold.
