A big dowdy shrub with wonderfully fragrant flowers in late winter/early spring before the leaves appear. The fragrance is like lemon blossoms, without the heavier overtones that L. japonica gives.

This is a big shrub, growing 6-8' tall and as wide. Here in Z6a, it is tardily deciduous.

This is a great plant for cutting and forcing for fragrant winter arrangements.

The Royal Horticultural Society has given 'Winter Beauty' its coveted Award of Garden Merit.
