In Tucson, we know this as 'Giant Hesperaloe'. I have three of these, on a west facing wall, where they get lots of reflected heat. Since my drip system is not working in that particular bed, I will vouch for this one's drought-tolerance. However, it hasn't flowered for me, whereas several Hesperaloe parviflora planted at the same time in an adjacent bed had really nice flower spikes from spring to autumn this year.
