Neutral	Joan	On May 14, 2009, Joan from Belfield, ND (Zone 4a) wrote: Editor's Note Some resources list Tulipa bulbs, stems and flowers as poisonous if ingested, and may cause a dermatitis type skin rash upon contact. Toxic principals are Tulipalin, a phytoalexin; allergins; glycoprotein. Symptoms include stomach pain, salivation, sweating, nausea and vomiting. Skin irritation with tingling, redness, blisters, and cracks, either immediately or after a delay from contact, and may spread away from the point of contact. We tend to err on the side of caution in PlantFiles, and the danger notation in the details above is to warn gardeners, parents and pet owners to look further for more information.
Positive	artemiss	On May 14, 2009, artemiss from Toledo, OH (Zone 5b) wrote: One of the latest blooming in my personal garden, it is tall and willowy, best planted in large groups or with other less-overpowering tulips. Also, it seems to be quite variable from bloom to bloom.
