I have seen many newer cultivars which seem to look an awful lot like my tried and true older variety 'Rubidor' - a striking combo of golden foliage w/ red flowers that many are imitating but not really improving on. A tried and true, and personal favorite, garden shrub!

Foliage on 'Rubidor' is brilliant yellow with deep red flowers; a striking combination. This is an old cutlivar with newer ones now on the market that look essentially the same. 'Rubigold' and 'Looymansii Aurea' may indeed be also just synonyms of 'Rubidor'. Full sun will develop the brightest yellow colour but if too hot, they may burn.
