This Dissectum Group maple has the leaf shade and mounding, somewhat pendulous habit of most Dissectums. The plants will get to about 2 m. The leaves have quite variable variegation. They may be green with a bronze-red cast, heavily marked in pink or have large white patches, all on the same plant! make for a very different looking Japanese maple. Other cultivar names include 'Beni shidare Tricolor' and 'Beni shidare Variegated'.
