While this is one of my favorite of the 30+ species I have, this note is more about growing and sowing of seeds. Do neither in soil. Like most Tillandsia (Air Plants), Plumosa does not like being in soil. And the seed are a challenge to start. Best to read up on the process before attempting. Tip: Ladys, save your nylons!
