This is the other evergreen species of candelabra primrose (the other is P. poissonii). It is the least hardy of the candelabras and one of the rarer ones in cultivation. Moist to wet soil in more sun than shade is best. It is native to Szechuan and Yunnan where it grows in damp meadows at 2800-3400 m elevation.
