I have grown this plant from a young sapling about 4 ft high. It has reached a height of about 10 ft in about 6 years. I do not have it in full sun (shaded in the afternoon), so that may have kept it from growing faster. It seems to flower best after a winter with temperatures lower than normal for our area. It also benefits from light pruning after flowering.
