This Matsumurae Group maple is classifeid as being variegated but its not the kind of variegation most of us are familiar with. The leaves are deep rosy-red with dark red or black-green veins...a unique colour combination. The 7-lobed leaves are quite star-like in shape. Full sun will bring out the best colouration. This upright selection can reach to 7 m over a long period of time.
