Vanilla barbellata have smaller Flowers as V.claviculata and V.dilloniana but they are also beautiful.
V.claviculata has bigger and V.dilloniana still bigger Flowers.

The Vanilla barbellata
is still locally common in and around the small
hammocks, mangrove tree islands, and mangrovebuttonwood
forests from Madeira Bay to Cape Sable
northward through the Everglades backcountry. It is
also local in the Upper and Lower Florida Keys, where it has become less common due to illegal
collecting and habitat destruction.

Wormvine Orchid (Vanilla barbellata) is a vining, dangling, epythytic orchid native to the moist hammocks, swamps, and coastal mangrove swamps and moist habitats of southern Florida (Miami-Dade County) and the Keys. It is a very unusual, epythytic orchid with swollen stems that dangles down from tree branches and shrubs (hence the common name, Wormvine Orchid) such as mangroves in mangrove swamps, one of the habitats it is commonly found in. It is also found in parts of Everglades National Park, especially in the southern coastal half of the park in Miami-Dade County. The flowers are white with a maroon to pink front edge, the center of the flower yellowish in the very center. The flowers are just as unusual as the stems and form of this orchid and are attractive-appearing. The swollen, dangling, worm-like stems are orange and are best seen in daylight. This unusual native orchid is listed, sadly, as endangered by the sate of Florida due to habitat destruction and overcollecting. Habitat preservation and protection in it's native habitats in the U.S. in Miami-Dade County in southern Florida and in the Keys and tougher fines and limits for collection are the best ways to ensure this orchid's survival.

MORE FACTS - Often seen dangling as a worm-like epythytic from shrubs and mangrove trees along waterways, canoe trails and streams in coastal mangrove swamps. This orchid also occurs in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands and parts of the Caribbean. Synonyms are Vanilla articulata Northr.
