Editor's Note

Some resources note that all parts of the Paeonia plants are poisonous when ingested in large quantities.

Symptoms of poisoning are vomiting, paresthesias, and accelerated heartbeat. Resourses note that it has been proven that a small dose provokes excessive menstrual bleeding, which leads to abortion, while at the same time makes the clotting of blood easier.

We tend to err on the side of caution in PlantFiles, and the danger notation in the details above is to warn gardeners, parents and pet owners to look further for more information.
