This very rare, epithytic, branching orchid is known only from a single location or small area where it was found over a short period in the Fakahatchee Swamp in Collier County, southwest Florida, around zone 10b. The flowers are known to be bronze or cream/tan in color. The leaves were long to medium-size and elliptic. This orchid hangs down from the bark on the side of a tree, such as pop ash, cypress, or pond apple in the swamps, hammocks and deepwater sloughs. It is listed as endangered by the state of Florida. While it is very rare in Florida, it is also found in the West Indies, Mexico, and Central America.
