One of the newer tropical bamboos. Imported in 1997 - cleared quarantine in 1998.
Easily identified by yellow/gold stripes on one side of culm internode that alternate 180 degrees on each progressive internode. Very errect form, tight clumping, and naturally brancheless at the base. All good features for an ornamental landscape specimen as well as for a privacy screen if planted in a row. Good cold hardiness for a tropical bamboo.
