A low spreading plant withrosettes of pinnate leaves lying on the sand. Small tight, round, short stemmed umbels rising from the center bearing numerous tiny white flowers.

It ranges along the Pacific Coast from southern Alaska to northern California.

The genus probably honors P.von Glehn, a 19th century curator of the St. Petersburg Botanic Garden.
