PI 387838 was originally collected in Bolivia. From a Feb 15th seed start it blossomed in mid-May & had ripe pods by July 27th.

The ripe pods were the earliest of any C. pubescens that I've ever grown. When fully ripe the pods will get an orange "blush" and the seeds will be completely dark. Pod size is that of a Thompson grape. Very nice heat.

This is the only C. pubescens that I have grown in which I am rather certain will not self and requires pollen from another plant in order to set fruit. It will also set fruit in somewhat warmer temperatures than most C. pubescens. (daytime temps in the 80sF)

Even though the pods are smaller than the vast majority of C. pubescens that I've grown, it is one very good hot pepper.
